2009 AHA Conference - Call for papers

The American Hippotherapy Association is putting forth a call for proposals to be presented at our 2009 Conference. We will consider a variety of topics including, but not limited to, hippotherapy research (includes case reports), clinical subject review, program information, treatment techniques, equine assisted therapy activities, and literature reviews. We are also interested in topics related to our equine partner including, but not limited to, management of the (older) horse, feeding guidelines, training of the equine for hippotherapy, and equine research.

Submitted proposals must be postmarked no later than October 3, 2008. Submitted proposals should include:

  • Clearly articulated learning outcomes
  • Identify teaching strategies that match learning outcomes
  • Provide current and relevant information regarding the practice of hippotherapy

Submitted proposals will be reviewed by a multidisciplinary selection committee. Individuals will be notified of the status of their proposals by early December.

Procedure for submission:

  1. Complete the proposal cover sheet.
  2. Attach 3 copies of the proposal without author identification which includes
    1. Presentation title
    2. Learning objectives
    3. Description of content to be covered
    4. Method of instruction to be used (lecture, panel or group discussion, etc)
    5. References
