Affiliation/Internship Opportunity Site Listing

ARKANSAS
CONNECTICUT High Hopes accepts PT and PTA students interested in hippotherapy from August to June. This is a part-time affiliation with 50-75% of the time involved in hippotherapy sessions. Prerequisites include: transportation, interview is possible and internship requirements. Educational institutions that High Hopes has been an affiliation site for include: Teikyo Post College, University of New England, Quinnipiac College, Connecticut College, University of Connecticut and Weslyan.
We accept PT and PTA students preferably with ped's and neuro coursework complete or in progress. We have 1 fulltime PT and 1 part-time PT and can provide full or part-time affiliations year round with approximately 80% or more hippotherapy.
This center accepts PT and OT students (part time and full time) and operates Monday-Friday. Fifty percent of the time is in hippotherapy sessions. Theraplay has been an affiliation site for University of Indianapolis, Western Michigan University and Indiana University.
Greenlock accepts PT students interested in hippotherapy for their last affiliation from May to August. This is a part-time affiliation (20-24 hours per week) with 50-75% of the time performing hippotherapy. Greenlock has accepted students from the University of Rhode Island and will consider others. Greenlock follows the AHA curriculum for the Introduction to Hippotherapy course.
The Right Step has 1 OTR and operates 12 months per year offering Hippotherapy, Sensory Integration treatment and Therapeutic Listening home programs.
Health Directed Riding operates from May-October 1-2 days per week with 1 PT, 1 OTR, and 1 SLP.

DeCanditis, Lanphere and Associates, LLC, accepts Occupational Therapy students for Level I and II fieldwork. Our organization is currently contracted with The University of New Mexico and we are further interested in collaborations with other universities including COTA programs. *********** Skyline Therapy Services, Ruth Dismuke-Blakely, CCC/SLP, PO Box 30, Sandia Park, NM 87047, 505.281.1811. Skyline operates year round, 5 days per week treating 10-15 patients per day utilizing all disciplines. *********** Tidman Therapy Services, Melanie Tidman, MA, OTR/L, 521 Vineyard Road NE, Albuquerque, NM 87113, 505.344.5756 Melanie accepts OT and COTA students interested in hippotherapy year round. This is a full-time affiliation for three to six months with 75-100% of the time involved with hippotherapy sessions. Prerequisites include basic horse handling and riding knowledge. Melanie has been an affiliation site for: Duquesne University, Colorado State University, Eastern Kentucky University, Spaulding University, Texas Women's University, Texas Tech University, University of New Mexico, Nova southeastern University, Western New Mexico University, Eastern New Mexico University, University of Alabama-Birmingham and Apollo College.

Open to Second year student internships on a limited basis.
