How To Host A Course

THE EDUCATION COURSE HOSTING/APPLICATION PROCESS IS CHANGING FOR 2012 COURSES

Changes include modifications to the fee schedule related to hosting and member and non-member attendance rates.

A reservation process for your AHA Faculty and education course dates is being implemented starting 2012.

PROCESS HIGHLIGHTS: The first step, for all courses being held in 2012, is to download the hosting requirements for the course from this site.

Step two, once the requirements have been reviewed, is for the proposed host facility to contact and contract with an AHA Faculty member.

Once a date and schedule exist, please contact the AHA office via phone or email to reserve the faculty member and dates for the course. You will then be sent the necessary forms to complete to finalize the process – with a requirement that these forms be received back at the AHA offices within five working days.

At this time, please contact the AHA office via phone, 877-851-4592, or via email at info@americanhippotherapyassociation.org  for information regarding these changes, and to start the process for any 2012 course dates.

Level I and Level II documents are available here – all other DOCUMENTS ARE UNDER REVISION AND ONLY AVAILABLE BY CONTACTING THE AHA OFFICE AT THIS TIME.

These are PDF documents which require that you have Adobe Reader installed on your computer. If you do not have Adobe Reader, it is available for download.

Sample Course Brochures

These are PDF samples of brochures for the Level l and Level ll Courses. Please note that the following information in these samples must be included in your course brochure:

  • Course Description
  • Course Objectives
  • Dates of the Course
  • Cancellation policy
  • Statement referring to these courses being mandatory to become eligible for NARHA Registered Therapist status
  • Faculty Bios
  • Registration Information
  • Information on the Level ll Brochure with respect to prerequisites of clinical hours and taking the Level l Course

Microsoft Publisher Sample Course Templates

  • Level I Brochure Template Files (file 1 | file 2)
  • Level II Brochure Template Files (file 1 | file 2)

We are also providing brochure templates in Microsoft Publisher format (.pub). If you have Publisher, or decide to acquire it, you can directly edit these templates for your courses. You are not, however, required to use these templates—so if you do not have Publisher, please feel free to design your own brochures.

However, you must still incorporate the required elements as laid out above.
