Education

AHA, Inc provides and promotes excellence in education related to the integration of hippotherapy in practice.  Two courses: Hippotherapy Treatment Principles Parts I and II, which establish a foundation for therapy professionals who want to understand and use equine movement as a treatment tool.  AHA also offers a number of advanced courses (The Connection Courses) that spotlight specific aspects of the application of hippotherapy.   For the equine professional, the Horse Connection series addresses the unique requirements of the horse/horse handler team in the hippotherapy discipline.

AHA, Inc. is proud to be a continuing education (CE) Approved Provider for the American Occupational Therapy Association, Inc. and the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association.  Multiple state Physical Therapy Boards have individually approved CEUs for PT professionals.

Since 2020, The AHA, Inc. has developed webinar versions of the Foundation courses, and in 2021/2022 these courses will likely be a hybrid of virtual and in-person formats.   You can choose what best meets your needs, knowing that the curriculum content is consistent amongst all platforms and all faculty.

AHA, Inc has faculty from all disciplines and is able to address how hippotherapy is used in a variety of contexts and business models.  Each faculty member has extensive experience in not only providing hippotherapy in their therapy practice but also in understanding how hippotherapy fits in the context of a medical model.  Whether as a seasoned practitioner or a newer grad, an expert equestrian or a horse admirer, you’ll find courses to meet your needs and faculty to answer your questions, helping you to promote Best Practice as an educated provider.

We hope to see you at an AHA, Inc. course or two this year!
