The Find A Therapist feature on the AHA, Inc. website offers a method to locate therapists/therapy assistants who incorporate hippotherapy as a treatment tool in their practice.

The individuals who are listed MUST meet one of the following requirements: 

  • Completion of the AHA, Inc. Foundations Courses, Hippotherapy Treatment Principles, Parts I and II within the last 5 years (the prerequisite courses to sit for the AHCB Hippotherapy Certification Exam).
    OR

  • AHCB Hippotherapy Certified*- this indicates the clinician has taken the AHA, Inc. Foundations courses and demonstrates educational achievement in the use of equine movement in therapy practice.

    OR

  • HPCS  Hippotherapy Clinical Specialist**- This is an advanced credential that validates the clinician’s extensive knowledge, clinical reasoning, and expertise in the use of equine movement in therapy practice.

If a therapist/therapy assistant meets the requirements and desires to be listed, they will indicate this with their membership. Proof of licensure, certification, or certificates from AHA, Inc. Foundations Courses will be required.

It will be the responsibility of the listed individual to contact the AHA, Inc. office to keep the information updated (e.g. change of name or address, or added certification).
