American Hippotherapy Association, Inc. Find a Therapist Directory

The Find a Therapist Directory on the AHA, Inc. website offers the public a list of therapists & therapy assistants who are members of AHA, Inc. and incorporate hippotherapy as a treatment tool in their practice.

The individuals who are listed MUST meet ONE of the following requirements: 

  • Completion of the AHA, Inc. Foundation Course (Hippotherapy Treatment Principles- Parts I and II) within the last 5 years (the prerequisite courses to sit for the AHCB Hippotherapy Certification Exam)
    OR

  • AHCB Hippotherapy Certified- this indicates the clinician has taken the AHA, Inc. Foundation Course and demonstrates educational achievement in the use of equine movement in therapy practice.

    OR

  • HPCS  Hippotherapy Clinical Specialist- this is an advanced credential that validates the clinician’s extensive knowledge, clinical reasoning, and expertise in the use of equine movement in therapy practice

If a therapist or therapy assistant meets the requirements and desires to be listed, they will indicate this with their membership application and/or membership renewal. Proof of licensure, certification, or certificates from the AHA, Inc. Foundation Course will be required.
